reyes may have thyroid problem.

The New York Mets speedy young shortstop Jose Reyes is returning to NY for further testing after Dr’s have uncovered that he may have a problem with his Thyroid.

The Thyroid is a gland in the neck that produces hormones that control metabolism. Jose states that his legs feel great and this is not an injury that happened while playing its an illness or medical condition that he could not have prevented. Drs and Reyes don’t seem particularly worried as Hyperthyroidism can be controlled with medication and should not effect his play whatsoever.

Last season Reyes only played in 36 games because of a hamstring injury so this season they are not taking any chances. If Jose stubs his toe my guess he will get a game off, thats how important this guy is to the Mets.
