YANKEES WIN 40th PENNANT

meelk After a complete meltdown by the Angels which included 2 errors in the 9th inning that led to two runs the Yankees finished off the Angels 5-2 to win the Pennant.

The game ended with a strikeout from Mariano Rivera, which is how every game should end. Pettite was very good going 6 .1 innings only giving up one run with six strikeouts. Joba chamberlain came in to get the final two outs of the seventh inning and did it with two ground ball outs. Taking no chances the Yankees brought in Mariano Rivera for the final six outs. Mo made it a little scary giving up a run in the eighth to make it 3-2 but the bombers gave him some breathing room compliments of  Scott Kazmir and the Angels melt down committing two errors and gift wrapping two more runs. Turns out they weren’t needed as Rivera came in to shut them down and secure their 40th trip to the world series.

CC Sabathia won the ALCS Mvp with a 2-0 record and 16 K’s also sporting a ERA under 2. In my mind Alex Rodriguez gets the runner up. Many people have criticized  Alex in the past but he has been on the Mark all post season. Including tonight’s performance going 2-2 with 3 walks and an RBI.

The World Series will start at Yankee Stadium Wednesday night and will feature the premiere pitching match up of Cliff Lee vs CC Sabathia.

I would like every one of you out there to go out and buy a box of Kleenex to give to a Red Sox fan that you may know. Be sure to tell them to save some of them for after the Yankees win their 27th world series title.
