Another one game playoff for the Twins

899-Royals_Twins_Baseball.sff.embedded.prod_affiliate.156 You may remember last year the Twins were in this same spot. A one game playoff to make their way into the playoffs. Last year it was against the White Sox in Chicago,it didn’t end well for them, this year they get Detroit and home field advantage. Just when we thought we had closed the books on the Metrodome, inside baseball in Minnesota gets new life.  The Twins are one of the hottest teams in Baseball right now and the Tigers have basically collapsed and are hanging on to their playoff hopes by a string. In the last 10 games the twins are 7-3 and the Tigers are 4-6. It all comes down to this kids one game where the winner goes to NY and the loser goes home.

The Twins will put Scott Baker 15-9 4.36 ERA on the mound to face Rick Porcello 14-9 4.04. This should be a pitching duel for the books. I personally give the edge to the Twins they have better hitting and Joe Nathan to close it out for them.

This game will certainly be viewed by the Yankees and all their collective “Yankees Universe” They will all be hoping the game goes 15 innings and the winner is forced to use their entire bull pen before traveling to the Bronx for game one of the ALDS on Wednesday.

Anything can happen in playoff baseball that’s the excitement of it all. As a Yankee fan you have to like your chances against either of these teams. But the Twins are the scarier of the teams right now as they remind us of what the Rockies did when they rode an amazing end of the season winning streak right to the world series. The game will be televised on TBS starting at 5:07pm EST.
