Be afraid be very afraid

fogg Los Angeles Dodgers manager Joe Torre isn’t worried about the Colorado Rockies stating that if there  were a week left he would be, but right now they just had to worry about winning more consistently.

The Dodgers better heed that advice because the Rockies are 18 games over .500 and only three back in the NL West . Colorado is known for its strong finishes . The Rocky Mountain crew is 8-2 over their last ten  starting  a 2007 reminiscent comeback in what surely seemed destined to be the Dodgers division crown. Today they are likely two get within 2 games of the division lead , as the Dodgers bring Vincent Padilla to the mound to face Rockies Jorge  DeLarosa . DeLarosa 12-8 is having a hell of a year. That goes for all the Rockies starting pitching with Jason Marquis being 14-8 and Ubaldo Jimenez  is 12-9 with an era of 3.36. They have the potential of going into the playoffs with 3 ,20 game winners. They have Solid hitting led by Todd Helton who has been money for the Rocks over the years and is currently batting .319 with an OBP of .406.

But Pitching is what makes the Rockies for real and the bull pen is as solid as they come with 4 year Veteran Huston Street having a killer year with 33 saves and 62 strikeouts. They are red hot right now and have a 3 game lead over the Giants, but its their momentum in the West that is making things fun down the stretch.
