Ok Tim Wakefield almost pitched a no no. What next dogs and cats living together

timwWithin 5 outs of a no hitter Time Wakefield made a bid to be the second oldest pitcher to ever get one behind Nolan Ryan who did it twice at an age older than Wakefields 43 years.

He came within 5 outs  before Kurt Suzuki broke it up with a one-out single to left for the A’s, and Landon Powell had an RBI single later in the inning. Wakefield also gave up Matt Holliday’s run-scoring double in the ninth, but escaped one last jam before getting hugs and congratulations from each of his teammates.

17 seasons without a no hitter  and to get that close.  Now I know what you are thinking Red Sox fans this is going to be a great year for Tim and maybe he will compete for the CY Young or something.  Ok reality check, we are talking about Tim most days mu knucker is flat Wakefield. He will probably  finish 12-12 with an ERA around 4.95 just like always. When the Knuckleball is going good it can be down right impossible to hit but that’s a big when.

But hey relish the moment Tim you had a great game nobody is takeing anything away from that. Lets just keep it real.
